There’s now an app that will allow you to travel back in time to experience the most iconic moments in the history of your favorite cities. Timelooper finally launched its virtual reality app in New York City so you can observe scenes from your favorite places in the city from a significant time in history.
Two versions of Timelooper are available; the virtual reality experience includes an app and a headset so you can enjoy unobstructed views of the historical scenery. For those who prefer an augmented reality, the app is also available without the headset.
Virtual Reality headset vs. Augmented Reality app
In New York City, you can experience such moments as the inauguration of President George Washington at Federal Hall in 1789, the construction of the Empire State Building, the famous 1945 kiss in Times Square, immigrants arriving at Ellis Island and more.
All you need to experience this VR is a smartphone. You can now get the Timelooper app for free with your Unlimited Sightseeing Pass. With the Flex Pass, you get the app and the headset for free. You can redeem your Timelooper app and headset at the Gray Line Citysightseeing Visitor Center located at 777 8th Avenue, open daily 7am to 8pm.
